Outlaws beat Cottage Grove, lose 2 to Sweet Home
The Sisters High School Outlaws varsity softball team saw all sides of softball in their three Sky-Em League games last week.

Track athletes go faster, higher, farther
Big meets can produce big results, and Keegan Greaney appears to be proof of that. He faced a fast field of competitors at the Summit Invitational on Saturday and came away with the fastest time of his career for the 300 hurdles, coming within inches of a sub-40-second mark by finishing in 40.02 seconds.

His mark is a school record.

Baseball team suffers first loss of season
The Outlaws started their week with a 17-2 win over Junction City (JC), but split games in their double-header at home against Cottage Grove (CG) on Friday. On Saturday, they beat Dayton 5-1 in a non-league game.

Boys lacrosse lose two
The boys lacrosse squad fell 14-3 at home to Mt. View on Tuesday, April 11, and four days later got beat 16-5 at home by Hermiston.

Powerlifting event a hit in Sisters
Strength athletes from five states converged on Sisters High School last weekend for what turned out to be the largest sanctioned powerlifting meet ever in Central Oregon.

Some 105 athletes competed in the USPA Oregon Outlaw Open. High Desert Power Team from Redmond and Prineville took top honors in the two-day meet, with Sisters' own Level 5 Barbell Club taking second place.

Peterson Ridge Rumblers hit trail
Sean Meissner, long-time director of the annual Peterson Ridge Rumble 20- and 40-mile trail run here in Sisters, watched the weather reports for the past weeks, wondering whether the course this year would be covered in snow.

"These runners are ready for anything, but I am glad the course was snow-free and actually in really good shape," he said.

Outlaws compete on horseback
The Rimrock Riders Event Center at Brasada Ranch in Powell Butte is an equestrian venue with two arenas, grandstands, a café and ample space for trailers and spectator vehicles. And when it's full of cheering teenagers, their parents and friends, the happy noise echoes to the big metal spans that hold the roof.

Hawley Harrer set to play volleyball for UCLA Bruins
Hawley Harrer has volleyball in her blood.

Her mom, Janice, is a Hall of Fame sand volleyball player, and her dad, Tom, played volleyball at the University of Hawaii and was also a sand volleyball player. So, it only seems natural that Hawley follow in their footsteps.

The Outlaws boys tennis team hosted its inaugural match against Bend on Thursday, March 23. The Outlaws fell 6-2 to the Lava Bears.

Boys lacrosse takes first loss
The Outlaws had a rough week, with a 10-4 loss on the lacrosse field at Ridgeview on Thursday, March 23, followed by a 14-2 loss to Liberty at home a day later.

In Thursday's game, the Outlaws got two goals from Ethan Morgan, and a goal from Bennett Lewis and Tyler Friend. Matt Harris recorded eight ground balls, Sam Mitchell had five, and Ethan Kennedy added four.

Outlaws post third straight win in baseball
The Outlaws defeated Madras and Crook County this past week to push their record to 3-0. Sisters' Tuesday game against Madras was rained out, and teams made the game on Wednesday. Sisters played a great game and defeated the White Buffs at Madras 5-2. A day later, the Outlaws crushed the Crook County Cowboys 13-3.

The winter snows receded just in time for the Sisters Outlaws track and field teams to undertake the first meet of the season, a dual against the Lava Bears of Bend High on Wednesday, March 16.

Lacrosse team posts first win of season in double overtime
The boys lacrosse team's first game of the season against North Eugene on Wednesday, March 15, was wild and crazy and went to double overtime before the Outlaws finally notched the 9-8 win.
